1. Is TalkingTILES a free product?

TalkingTILES is a FREE app that can be downloaded through any App Store or be used through a Web browser with a complete set of features. Optional Mozzaz Cloud Subscription plans can be purchased that provides enhanced remote collaboration capabilities and access to symbol and voice libraries for TalkingTILES.

2. Why do I need a Mozzaz Cloud Subscription?

A Mozzaz Cloud Subscription enables users to expand their use of TalkingTILES with additional capabilities such as remote team collaboration, access to Cloud-based content and libraries and secure backup/ restore features across any device. Please refer to this link for more information

3. What is the difference between a Primary Caregiver and Support Team account?

Primary Caregivers are family members and caregivers of individuals using TalkingTILES for communication. Typically, they purchase and manage the cloud subscription for the individuals. Support team members include educators, therapists and support workers who provide the necessary training and support for the individual. Primary Caregivers assign the support team members. 4. Do I need a separate license for each of my devices or support team members?

No, our subscription is a device-independent license that allows you to access the services from multiple devices using the same subscription plan. Secondly, support team members are covered as part of the Primary Caregivers license and therefore do not have to pay for the subscription.

5. Do you recommended any specific devicesforusing TalkingTILES?

TalkingTILES is available through the Chrome browser on PCs/Macs. Any PC/Mac that supports Chrome version 12 or higher will support TalkingTILES.

For the iPad, we support all iPads with the iOS version of 5.1.1 and above. Please refer to this link to update your iPad software. Currently, we do not support iPhone and iPod Touch. We do plan to support these devices in a future release.

For Android, we support tablets that run version 2.3 and above. Tablets with resolution of at least 1024x600, and Android versions above v3.2 are best suited for running TalkingTILES. Given the variety of devices available, we have not been able to test the entire range of devices. 6. Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use TalkingTILES or to edit Speech Pages?

To use TalkingTILES for communication, you do not require Internet access. Once the content is created, it resides on your device and does not require Internet access to function. You do not require Internet access to create tiles using the default images, pictures taken from your device camera, the default device Text To Speech (TTS) engine or the record your own voice feature.

You will need an Internet connection in order to edit Speech Pages, to access Mozzaz Cloud Services such as image libraries, cloud based speech engines such as Google, and uploading/downloading of speech pages.

7. Can I customize the grid sizewithin a Speech Page?

Currently, we do not support customization of the grid size. We will have this functionality in the next release.

8. Do you provide any pre-built content that could help us get started?

TalkingTILES has three default speech pages that are available within the application. It also has manypre-built speech pages in our PUBLIC folder. These ready-made templates cover a variety of scenarios such as core vocabulary, daily routines, and visual schedules. The content has been created in consultation with leading speech therapists. To access the Public folder, you will need a Mozzaz Cloud Subscription.

The PUBLIC folder was primarily created to foster user driven content and to share commonly created Speech Pages. If you would like to contribute to it please reach us at support@mozzaz.com.

9. Can I personalize the tiles with my own voice and custom pictures?

Yes, you can personalize the tiles with your voice using the record feature. (Please note that this functionality is not available on the PC/Mac chrome browser version). You can also use your own custom pictures for the tiles. This is available through the “Camera Roll” and “Browse File” buttons on devices and chrome respectively. For example, you can download pictures to the web, save them to your folder and add them to a tile. Another example is, taking a picture using your device camera and using that picture.

10. Is there an option to apply the same voice to all tiles?

Yes, you need to select your desired text to speech (TTS) option in the TTS setting. To modify this setting enter edit mode; select the settings page; click TTS settings; and modify the TTS options setting.

Please note that the new TTS would only apply to any new tile(s) created/modified through the Edit a Tile feature with audio set as Text-To-Speech. Tiles created prior to the setting change will not be modified automatically. You will have to manually open these tiles and save the audio through the Text-To-Speech option in Edit a Tile feature.

11. How do I delete a Speech Page in cloud?

In order to prevent users from accidentallydeleting the Speech Pages from the Cloud, we have disabled the delete functionality. Please contact us at support@mozzaz.com if you need to delete any Speech Pages in the Cloud.

12. The audio on my Android device is not working. How should I enable the Device TTS?

For voice output to work, the device must have a Text-To-Speech app installed. Most Android devices have a Text-To-Speech (TTS) app already installed but some devices do not. You can easily install a free TTS app by doing a search on the Google App Store. Here are some from a search on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=tts&c=apps.
