Mozzaz Pay in action:

A major problem in the industry today is adequately enforcing no-show policies for patients who book appointments and do not show up. Without being able to charge patients, these policies often go without usage resulting in mismanaged resources. The following application of Mozzaz Pay aims to alleviate this issue by enabling providers to easily charge patients for no-show appointments.
Tim has booked an appointment with his care provider to get in-person readings and discuss his care plan for worsening hypertension. He has successfully booked the appointment via email with his care provider Dr. Carrington. Tim has previously provided his credit card information and it is held on file through our integration with Stripe.
Tim’s care provider has scheduled his appointment within the Mozzaz Portal and has enrolled him in our reminder workflow.
Tim initially receives his confirmation of the appointment, stating the date, time and no-show policy. It clearly elucidates that patients have up to 48 hours prior to the appointment to cancel or reschedule or they will be charged a fee of $50. The message also provides links to either cancel or reschedule the appointment.
As part of the configurable reminders feature in the Mozzaz Platform, one week from Tim’s appointment he receives a text or email message asking him to reply with ‘C’ to confirm his attendance at the upcoming appointment, and re-states the no-show policy.
If Tim doesn’t reply or replies with no, the appointment will be cancelled, and he will not be charged so long as it is within the stated no-show policy timeframe.
Tim replies with ‘C’ and confirms his upcoming appointment attendance. This is documented within the Mozzaz Platform for reporting purposes.
The day before the appointment Tim again receives a reminder message about his upcoming appointment and is provided with the address, time, and any relevant notes to prepare for his appointment.
The day of the appointment comes and Tim does not show up. After the appointment’s timeslot has expired, his care provider Dr. Carrington enforces the no-show policy by opening his profile within Mozzaz and applying the no-show fee.
Through our integration with Stripe, Dr. Carrington is taken to a secure transaction page which houses encrypted payment information for patients and is able to charge Tim the $50 no-show fee with previously provided credit card data on file.
The no-show fee, and relevant non-financial information is then stored within Mozzaz and attached to his profile for future tracking needs.

In the rapidly changing world of healthcare, incorporating digital cross-selling opportunities is crucial for improving patient care and satisfaction. Consider the case of Stephany, a type II diabetic struggling with weight management.
Stephany visits her primary care provider for a standard checkup and to discuss her worsening condition. During her appointment, Stephany states her interest in exploring additional fitness services as part of her care journey. Her provider explains the options available to her and after the appointment follows up with a secure link to Stephany’s mobile or email.
Stephany receives the message from her care provider later that day, she clicks on the link provided which directs her to a secure webpage containing a variety of additional services that are personalized to her unique care needs for type II diabetes.
Stephany reviews the options provided and ultimately decides to purchase a fitness package. The specific package contains three in-person appointments and a digital health consultation to start things off. She is prompted to pay within the page via the Stripe integration with Mozzaz.
Tiffany, a care coordinator, receives a notification to her email (and within the Mozzaz Platform) that Stephany has purchased a fitness package; she confirms it by pulling up her profile within the Mozzaz Portal and quickly identifies that she has credits available for the relevant program mentioned above and that she has already pre-paid for these services.
*Note that appointments may also be booked without pre-payment and are customized to the unique requirements of each client’s clinical workflows.
Through the Mozzaz Portal, Tiffany schedules Stephany’s initial digital assessment for the following week. Stephany receives an email confirmation of her upcoming appointment, stating the date and time with options to cancel or reschedule.
A few days before her appointment, Stephany receives a reminder message to her preferred communication method with preparation steps for her upcoming consultation. She is prompted to confirm her attendance of the appointment by responding with the letter “C” and is notified that missed appointments will result in credits being used.
On the day of the appointment, Stephany receives an automated message in the morning reminding her of the appointment, and another 15 minutes before the appointment – both providing a secure web-link to her virtual call with her care provider for her initial assessment.
After a successful introduction to her fitness program, Stephany receives a link to schedule her follow-up appointments as part of her package.

As clinical models continue to adapt to changing patient needs, subscription service models have become a popular option for clinicians offering services on an ongoing basis. The next application of Mozzaz Pay highlights the story of Linda and her ongoing subscription to mental health support services through Mozzaz patient-facing mobile applications.
Linda has been struggling with her mental health and regularly visits her therapist in-person. During one of her recent appointments Linda mentions that she would be interested in extended resources that can provide her support throughout her day-to-day life.
Her therapist, Dr. Smith, suggests that she participate in an ongoing remote program, accessible via subscription through her practice’s mobile application.
Linda says that she will consider it and in the evening after her appointment, receives a message from Dr. Smith providing a link to her mentioned subscription services for extended care – with the specific details of the offering.
Linda decides to purchase the subscription service for ongoing virtual therapy sessions, mental health tracking and mindfulness exercises via the care application.
Upon successful purchase, Linda receives her automated patient onboarding and account setup directing her to account creation, within minutes she is now logged into the care application able to access a variety of care resources, including secure visits, chat, ongoing monitoring through in-app or SMS PHQ9 surveys and more.
Meanwhile, from within the Mozzaz Care Portal, Linda’s therapist Dr. Smith is notified of the addition to the care program. From within the portal, Dr. Smith can see how Linda is doing with her PHQ9 surveys, provide virtual visits, secure chat and monitor health metrics enabled through our integration with Apple Health.
Dr. Smith is also able to see status of all patients enrolled in her remote program, their subscription and payment status.
If you are interested in learning more or activating Mozzaz Pay for your organization, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your account representative or by filling out the below form.
It is important to note that Mozzaz does not view, store or process any payment information – this is securely conducted via our integration with Stripe. That means no credit card information is viewable within the Mozzaz Portal, only the specifics around the fee charged and relevant status information on the patient.
